This course will cover the following topics related to USG-PIV: The science of ultrasound, using the probe, standards of practice, venous anatomy and physiology, vein assessment, device selection, Aseptic Non Touch Technique (ANTT®), PIV Securement, USG Insertion, and probe disinfection. At the end of this course, participants will be able to demonstrate knowledge of the steps involved with the placement of a PIV catheter with ultrasound guidance.
