PIV 201: Introduction to Intermediate Concepts/Insertion of a PIV
This course provides an overview of peripheral intravenous (PIV) access including the importance of knowledge, skill, competence and equipment used for intravenous catheterization and infusion therapy.
This course provides training for the Intermediate Concepts/Insertion of a PIV.
Learning Objectives:
- Describe the importance of knowledge and skill acquisition as it pertains to the clinicians’ PIV competence.
- Compare and contrast education modalities used to support the clinicians’ PIVC skill acquisition.
- Identify the characteristics of PIV equipment used for intravenous catheterization and infusion therapy.
