Fundamentals of Peripheral IV Access eLearning Program© (1.0 CE)
The purpose of this program is to further develop clinicians' knowledge and understanding of important topics related to peripheral IV catheterization and how to systematically apply well-established care approaches designed to improve patient care, achieve best practices, and promote patient safety.
Learning Objectives
- Develop knowledge of anatomy and characteristics of veins appropriate for peripheral IV access
- Locate and identify veins of the upper extremities appropriate for peripheral IV access
- Identify complications associated with peripheral IV access and explain common nursing interventions
